Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix
2/3 C. Olive Gourmet Black Cherry Balsamic, reduced by 1/2
Freshly Whipped Cream or Sweetened Mascarpone
Chopped Nuts (optional)
Chocolate Sprinkles (optional)
Bake cupcakes according to package directions and cool. With the end of a wooden spoon, create a small cavity in the center of each cupcake. Drizzle reduced balsamic in the cupcake cavity. Top with sweetened whipped cream or mascarpone, nuts and/or sprinkles and a cherry. Serve immediately.
Variation: Substitute Blood Orange, Eureka Lemon or Persian Lime EVOO for the oil in the cake mix and use a complementary balsamic for the “surprise.”
